English Paper Piecing is sewn together by hand from geometric-shaped pieces of fabric, without the use of a sewing machine. This technique is time-consuming, but very beautiful. It allows for a degree of precision that other techniques cannot. The most commonly used shapes are hexagons, rhombuses, and triangles. The pieces are cut out of the fabric using a stencil. The technique originated in England in the 18th century. At that time, personal letters, newspapers, advertisements, catalogs, etc. were used as stencils.
Participants will make a soft ball. Participants will receive a ball pattern and written instructions for sewing the ball. In addition, we will learn how to make patchwork surfaces from various details, which can later be used to sew other items.
Those who registered for the course will receive more detailed information via email.
The workshop lasts three hours (4 academic hours).
