Our grandmothers have crocheted many fine laces in their time. Tablecloths and edging laces for bed linen have been made with care and love... Beautiful crochet laces still provide a lot of eye-catching and joy when you take them out of the closet. If you don't want pillowcases with crochet laces or if the laces worn away by time are dirty and broken, it is possible to create something new from them. Those whose grandmothers didn't crochet will find crochet laces longing for salvation in second-hand shops.
In the course, we will look at how to choose second-round crochet lace and design items from it. How to clean and tint lace. What to do with lace that is otherwise intact but has a large hole on one edge? And then how to use these crochet laces to sew and decorate new items.
We prepare crochet lace and choose fabrics that match the lace. Then we make various items from them: decorative cushions, bags, bedcovers, wall clocks, eyeglass cases, and whatever else we come up with together.
The course lasts 16 academic hours. We are going to meet four times (4 academic hours each). Those registered for the course will recieve information about the materials needed by e-mail.
