Is anything missing? Will the equipment hold out? Is there enough food? Is the food good? Can we swim?!
Such questions haunted the organizers of Estonia’s first Irish Crochet Summer Course (in addition to the smoothness of the crochet instruction of course). Now, three incredibly powerful days filled with crocheting together, full of laughter and good mood, making you gasp for breath are behind us.
Nothing important was left behind. What was missing, we found on site. The equipment didnt fail, both the magnifying glasses and the document camera worked. There was enough food and it was mouth-watering. Thank you, chefs Laura, Annika, Hedvig and Aivi! We also went swimming! Well- only the brave ones, since the water was quite chilly.❄️
But the most important thing was still the Irish Crochet. These delicate lacy roses, threads of life and thistles, grape bunches and leaves. And of course the symbol of Ireland, the three-leaf shamrock in several variations. ☘️
We crocheted with white thread aswell as colored. We crocheted with superfine thread and a little thicker thread. The tiniest flower blossoms were smaller than pennies! We crocheted in the morning, during the day and in the evening. The most diligent ones even continiued to crochet in their dreams.
Thank you for trusting me and coming to the course: Tiia, Pilla, Gaida, Anu, Irene, Elvi, and Riikka! Thank you, it was exceptionally nice to crochet with you! Extra big thanks thó Hedvig, who, soon to be officially a certified lacemaker, was there to support and offer advice and strenght at every stage. Thank you to Viivika, who helped crochet the samples. And thank you to Ajaleidja Loomemaja for hosting us.
Indescribably grateful that everything went so well! The laces came out beautiful! The next Irish lace summer course is next summer! 🤍🤍🤍
