Crochet retreat in Greece

I spent a beautiful week at the end of May on the suny Greek island Telendos, doing one of my favourite things – crocheting! The retreat was organized by Nathaly from Studio Belovely. Nathaly’s assistant Petrie held the lead on site. Crochet addicts from Belgium and the Netherlands participated, many of them have been crocheting on Telendos for years. This year there was also a weirdo from Estonia 😁

Before the trip, I had to choose a project and yarns from a given selection. I chose a basket as the crochet project of the week. We crocheted in different taverns, there were seven on the island. We crocheted on a boat trip, by the sea, in our tiny cozy hotelrooms and on terraces. The result of seaside crocheting – a basket with two handles made in colors that match the sea and the beach.

Between the quick hands of other crocheters, several different bags, summer blouses and jackets were made. The crocheters themselves were beautiful, cheerful and eager to laugh. 😍

All three Greek islands of Kos, Kalymnos and Telendos were absolutely wonderful. Small streets, old houses. Warm sea water, nice beaches, good food. Pomegranate trees and grape vines. Boat rides and a picnic at sunset. And of course the fantastic company of fellow crocheters 🩵

Will miss it! 🩵
