10 beautiful Muhu jackets and one vest

Eleven sewing enthusiasts and two instructors gathered on Muhu island for a three-day jacket-making marathon.
The participants had already selected their fabrics and checked their key measurements beforehand, so upon arrival, everyone received patterns fitted to their measurements and the fabrics of their choice.
The jacket patterns came from the instructors' own practical handbook, Cotton Jackets from Estonian Islands.
On the afternoon of the first day, a visit to the Muhu Museum awaited us. The museum's curator Mai gave us a brief tour, after which we were able to examine the Muhu jackets held in the museum's collection up close.
Everyone gained plenty of ideas for decorating their own jackets.
Three days of sewing, some adjustments, fittings, and great joy at the beauty of the jacket taking shape.
Margot, a diligent sewer had started her cross-stitching months in advance; she arrived at the course with her decorative bands already embroidered.
Sisters Margit and Ingrid brought matching fabrics. Their jackets came together through cooperation, with the two of them helping each other and offering suggestions on the choice of decorations.
Reine had previously created a full Muhu folk costume set at a folk costume school.
Initially she made a beautiful vest, but naturally, we hope that a jacket will join the ensemble aswell.
And those meals we shared outdoors at the long table! We will fondly remember the hostess Liivi's French chocolate cake with ice cream - it was absolutely delicious and vanished from the table so quickly that there wasn't even a chance to snap a photo!
